Eliminates hidden applications and processes
Removing rootkits without compromising system integrity is particularly challenging and needs to be done with care. Our free software, Sophos Anti-Rootkit, finds and removes any rootkit that is hidden on your computer.

What is a rootkit?
The term rootkit is used to define a Trojan (or technology) used to hide the presence of a malicious object (process, file, registry key, network port) from the computer user or administrator.

Very old topic update: looks like Sophos Anti-Rootkit (http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=921) has been merged into Sophos free Virus Removal Tool -- currently at v2.5, portability status unknown (http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/fr ... -tool.aspx)...

BTW, this is now the official forum topic for Sophos Anti-Rootkit.

So several changes here:

1. New website (updated)
2. New version, now at 2.6.1 according to Softpedia
3. It's registerware

I'm tempted to take the program offline until it can be re-tested. Thoughts?
