Linux Live USB Creator [discontinued]
Re: Linux Live USB Creator
Just tried this. Big help.
Re: Linux Live USB Creator
The program just got a really strong review from FWG: http://www.freewaregenius.com/2011/10/1 ... ws-itself/
Edit: the site mentions a Portable VirtualBox. Anyone know about this or feel like testing?

Re: Linux Live USB Creator
I tried Portable VirtualBox with LinuxMint (both Gnome & LXDE), and it was unbelievably SLOW. Unusable. Maybe someone with a better box would have more luck. My stuff is getting long in the tooth.
Re: Linux Live USB Creator
Depending on just how old your setup is, you may be able to improve things by enabling enhancements for vitualization in your BIOS. According to Wikipedia, the first processors to include such features came out back in 2005: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86_virtua ... are_assist. You can check your processor with CPU-Z - if the "instructions" field includes "AMD-V" (AMD processor) or "VT-x" (Intel processor), then your processor is capable.linuxx wrote:I tried Portable VirtualBox with LinuxMint (both Gnome & LXDE), and it was unbelievably SLOW. I recently upgraded to a six-core AMD processor, along with a new motherboard and plenty of RAM, and I was surpised at how slowly VirtualBox ran, until I remembered to enable virtualization supoort in the BIOS.

It just goes to show that you can literally create anything with AutoIt so long as you put your mind to it and have a little imagination.

This applies to all non-domain-specific programming languages.guinness wrote:It just goes to show that you can literally create anything with AutoIt so long as you put your mind to it and have a little imagination.
You could rewrite Linux in it if you really wanted.
