Re: TunnelierPortable
Has it got a new name? The link leads me to BitviseSSHClientPortable, which is at v2.60 Rev 2.0.
Re: TunnelierPortable
Correct and affirmative -- just don't know if it has been crippled in any way in comparison to the preceding Tunnelier...
BTW, I tested their server program (payware) and must say it performs as good as advertised.
EDIT: Bitvise SSH Client updated -- see http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=1982#comment26172...

Re: TunnelierPortable
Although it's payware, it's still completely free if you use it for personal uses. I used it for many years and I don't remember there were any crippling of the software. That's one thing I really like about them compared to my past favorite copSSH. Also, I don't notice any crippling of Tunnelier after the renaming either so I think it's ok.
I do not like the new name that much though since it's kind of... boring. Tunnelier sounds a bit spicier... sort of, haha.

Are we talking about Bitvise SSH Server here? I was under the impression all it gave you was a 30 day trial...

I agree. I guess they fell for the "Internet blue" (http://www.theawl.com/2014/06/internet-why-so-blue), as it's kind of naming grey, "our very own grey"...
Re: TunnelierPortable
Ah yes I am. But it seems like I forgot. There are limitations as shown in the screenshot I attached. However, personally I don't find the limitations that crippling since it seems very generous compared to most other software. Basically it limits anything that has to do with installing and using it on servers and domains with many systems.Midas wrote:

That's a bit sad... Remember AOL and CompuServ's logo and icons? They were blue too so I guess it started somewhere.Midas wrote:

Although interestingly, I remember reading somewhere that the most common favorite color seems to be blue!
Re: TunnelierPortable
Thanks, Enternal, that's good to know. Myself, I like blue...
Re: BitviseSSHClientPortable
Entry is updated.
Interesting article on the color blue. I always assumed it was because blue was overall calming but kept you awake.Midas wrote:Thanks, Enternal, that's good to know. Myself, I like blue...
Re: BitVise SSH Client (formerly TunnelierPortable)
billon pointed out the portable distro is offline
I'll run a test on this method sometime soon https://www.bitvise.com/ssh-client-portable and then update the entry.
