FCleaner Portable has a built in auto "search for updates" feature.
Edit: I meant to say that this feature cannot be disabled.

This app has great potential. Two things get in the way however and I know most of the people here could not care less about either. It will not run under wine in linux or darwine on the mac and the bottom line with version info etc. is mostly cut off in vista no matter the size of the window. Ccleaner and autoruns, for instance, have no such problems.

I wonder if this is machine specific - I have no such problem with Vista Home Premium on a low-end Gateway laptop.

Also places a "FTweak" folder in Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data

Thanks for pointing out the folder creation. I didn't keep it as long as I should have to check for other issues.
The vista thing is the same for me on two completely different machines plus one is running business and the other ultimate.

The Portable FCleaner has no folder "Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data" ,It seems all data save in folder itself..

It doesn't create any Files in %APPDATA% but it does create a Registry Entry under HKCU\Software\FTweak\FCleaner\

Tested V1.3.0.427: Portable (not Stealth)
It still creates a Registry Key - HKCU\Software\FTweak, but this doesn't affect Portability as everything else is written in the application folder.

How about the automatic search for update 'feature'? Did you find a way to disable this?

OK, no I didn't find a way to disable this. But I believe if -AutoCleanup is used it won't check for updates. I tested by using CurrPorts and only filtering FCleaner.exe and it didn't connect to the FCleaner servers.
