Notesnook, first mentioned by freakazoid, is open source markdown editor with free, secure sync.
A fully open source & end-to-end encrypted note taking alternative to Evernote.
Steps: Download portable version from https://notesnook.com/downloads/ and launch. 64-bit only.

Status: Portable, writes settings to app folder as \Notesnook

Resources: 63 megs disk space, 144 megs RAM

I mentioned Notesnook back in this thread.

One important thing to point out is Notesnook is cross-platform and should also work on your mobile device. I considered using Notesnook but I'm currently using Standard Notes which has a more, established presense in this space.
is it stealth? ;)
