HFS - HTTP File Server

I can't find this program in the PF database (although I could have sworn I saw it there) so I'll mention it here since a few people commented that it was "app of the week". HFS - HTTP File Server is a great tool for sharing files. Once the server is up and running the admin user simply adds files to be shared via drag and drop. Users wishing to download the files go to the specified IP address/domain where HFS is hosted, in their favourite web browser of choice. They will then be presented with a nice web page that lists all of the available files that can be downloaded.

Version 2 of the program (which is currently in development as of 2006/02/09) allows users not only to download, but upload files too! There are lots of other neat features like virtual directories (so that files in multiple folders can appear as if they are in one folder). Check out the website for more information.

I forgot to mention that you can actually download a beta of version 2 with the upload feature. I use it myself and it seems quite stable. Plus the upload function is a handy and welcome addition.

V2.3 beta Build #248 (I saw you posted a beta update for PeaZip, so I went against my better judgment and posted this, because 2.3 has been in beta for 2years!!)

Glad to see its still in development but wish the developers would finally offer SSL support. Networks are such that not adding even basic encryption is just bad policy. There's SSH tunneling but that's a big extra step.

"What's new" stuff added.

A related link since HFS hasn't seen a lot of activity lately:
A lightweight application able to create a web-server you can use to transfer and share multimedia content across multiple devices
The screenshots immediately reminded me of HFS

Haven't tested for portability.

I retested the program today and noticed that - unless you enter Expert mode and set the Save Options: To File, it writes to the registry. I've updated the entry but if someone could check my work, I'd appreciate it.

Confirmed. Your steps are correct. Weird I've been using this for awhile and don't exactly remember if it originally saved settings to ini without extra steps. Must be a new change.
