Super Mario War

#1 Post by jerseyboy91 »

Super Mario War is a multiplayer game where you have to stomp on your enemies to win, among other ways to win. The two main developers are Michael Schaffer and Florian Hufsky. Here's the feature list from the website:

- Up to four players deathmatch fun
- Tons of game modes and map
- Hilarious unreal tournament announcers (m m m monsterkill)
- More fun than poking a monkey with a stick
- Comes with the leveleditor - you can create your own maps
- The whole source code of the game is available
- uses SDL and is fully portable to windows, linux, xbox, ...
- CPU Players
- a whole bunch of game modes (featuring GetTheChicken, Domination, and and and)
- will make you happy and gives you a fuzzy feeling

The game requires at least Windows 95 and the MSVCR71.dll file, which you can download at http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-f ... ml?msvcr71, but you may have a bit longer load time depending on your computer's speed.

It writes the settings to the application folder, and you can put it on your portable drive by extracting the .ZIP file to the folder of your choice.

You can download other people's add-ons to the game, such as skins (Master Chief vs. Excitebike Mario, anyone?), music, and new maps at 2 places:

EDIT: Quick side note, the game doesn't support joysticks in this version, so you'd have to download JoyToKey, but the next version is definitely supporting joysticks and custom player controls. The beta of the next version should be coming out this week or next week, according to the website.
