Hi,
Because of my limitations of software knowledge, can anyone say if this PDF reader can be portable or made it portable?

IMHO it is a very good PDF reader with tab file system and commenting features among others...

Just use Universal Extractor to extract the installer to a folder in you USB. I have tried, it works well.

Just tried this program !
very nice features, but as Andrew said, it does write some settings in the registry, and particularly in HKCU\Software\Tracker Software...
Andrew, i think that the registry key your talking about is resulting from "HKCU\Software\Tracker Software"... if you delete "HKCU\Software\Tracker Software", the key you mentionned should be deleted as well...

I got it running portably by using JauntePE, and I'm quite happy with the result. (had a few potholes in the road to getting there, but all is fine now.)
As far as I can tell, it now only writes registry entries to MRU, but I don't think that can be prevented, can it?

An no writing to registry, this is a good catch thanks.
Probably the best portable PDF viewer now.

Hi,
This PDF viewer is now portable, as of 31 December 2007.
Someone might want to test out its portability further (I couldn't find any registry entries using ccleaner), but this program is very slick. Fast start-up. Tested it with opening manuals with more than 1000 pages, and its rendering is quick. Seems very stable.
Opens documents through a
tabbed interface. Has additional tools such as adding text to tthe document with the '
typewriter' tool, or editing a document by
highlighting text,
drawing and marking text freehand with underlines, or even adding a
stamp to each page such as 'approved' or 'draft'.
Additional features include: capturing the document with the
snapshot tool,
search tools and the ability to
export the entire document, or a page, to an image (tiff, jpeg etc).
You can also
rotate and save a document, something that the basic adobe program seems to have problems with (document would be rotated but always opens to its default setting). This program can actually rotate and save the pages, so the document is rotated correctly once it opens in adobe reader/acrobat.

My RegShot log wasn't perfectly clean, this portable version affects the NTUser files in Documents and Settings, and of course all the MRU reg keys.
Not too severe, but I might continue to use JauntePE just to keep it that much cleaner.
I like that they have added more mark-up options, you can Highlight, Underline, and Strikeout selected text now.
I hate that they STILL have not implemented Undo, because there is no way to reverse those Highlights, Underlines, or Strikeouts. The Comment boxes and sticky notes can simply be deleted, but these new ones can't be undone -- I have to close without saving and re-open.
Still wishing for copy and paste formatted text, can only copy as plain text into another app.
UPX and killing un-needed language files took it down to 3.3 mb, it grows a bit bigger each generation.
It is still my only PDF reader though, and I do love it.

And people are going to keep posting it since it isn't in the database.
If you search for "PDF-XChange Viewer" all you get is "rejected application"
If its portable it should be in, i just tried it, and while the fonts are a bit small (in the menus) its much faster of rendering the document that foxitreader (and has a few extra features)
