Charon ... Searches Google for open proxies and includes a full anonymity checker.

This is the follow up to the proxy filtering program Calamity. It provides a fully customisable way of filtering out unwanted proxies via control files, a proxy tester to check anonymity - and a fully functional search engine crawler to find lists of posted proxies. Included within the kit is a php checker which can be uploaded to your own webspace to spread the processor load and bandwidth of the actual testing. This is fully integrated into Charon where it will simply send your pages lists of proxies and harvest the results.

I can't believe this!!! darn it! I was trying to search this .wmv charon tutorial video on this bad bad sites (PhazeDDL & 2BakSa) and here I entered in Google Charon.wmv and... I found it!
The file can be found here, somehow VideoLAN can't play it but IrfanView and Windows Media Player can
such a long video and its size is only 2,333,784 bytes OMG how this dude did this video file so small?
note: will someone please convert this video to .swf format and upload it to http://imageshack.us/ (must be less than 1.5 megabytes!)

1. first time you run this application it creates 2 files GoogleSearchwords.txt & urls_not_to_leech.txt

2. a. few seconds after, unless you choose/said no in the "Check for news?" dialog, the software is getting its news and then a file called news.txt is appear in the application folder

2. b. about 2. a. above: you can choose not to check for news on start up, just push the About button and then click Refresh news (and then you'll get this news.txt

3. after you exit, this app will create 2 files proxy.ini & settings.ini

so... what is what?
GoogleSearchwords.txt :: dunno?
urls_not_to_leech.txt :: dunno too?
news.txt :: news (duh!) as it shown on the About box
proxy.ini :: your proxy list from your last session
settings.ini :: settings

this is, roughly, what this software creates, all the others, like judges.ini, are being edit by you or the app if you'll go to Judge Options and then click on PHP Judges you'll create a php_checkers.ini

Just to elaborate:

the GoogleSearchwords.txt file contains the initial strings that the program will crawl the search engines with. You can add to this list if you prefer. Once Charon has finished these - it will make additional search terms from the results it's already managed to obtain.

Think of it like a blacklist. If (for some reason) there are particular URLs that you don't want the program to spider, please specify them here.
