Kadu - Jabber client

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

I wonder has anybody ever tried to make Kadu portable?

I haven't tested this but there appears to be a trick to make this portable: https://gitlab.com/kadu/kadu/wikis/portable

Still nothing clear on the Jitsi side.

You are right, Kadu is portable and stealth. I first tested it for portability on 2017-02-03 and included in my submission list but it seems that I am the only one in this forum interested in Jabber protocol and Jabber clients. Kadu seems stable and is customizable but uses more memory than Gajim and Vacuum-IM.

True, but every program needs it's champion. If you hadn't been so excited about the Tox protocol, I never would have tried it.

Either way, I've given it a separate thread

Kadu exists since year 2001, it is one man project and I appreciate developer's persistence. I have been testing Kadu since version 1.0 (2014-09-28) and the program has improved a lot in terms of stability and customization. When I have time I will write a detailed review about Kadu.

Wow, that is laudable.

I finally had a track to try out a jabber server so of course I came back to Kadu. Sadly the program seems to have been set aside by the dev.
