Like xor, I also use Everything and CSearcher for my file searches.
I use Everything for one particular drive which I search frequently. I use CSearcher on my two other drives when something "goes missing". It is indeed very fast and efficient.
I'll just add a trivial point. I didn't like yet another 'magnifying glass icon' for CSearcher. I changed it to a searchlight which works well for a folder display but it reverts to the magnifyer when on the taskbar. Even Resource Hacker won't do it. Never mind! But any ideas?

Re: CSearcher
New version with new feature and fixed some bugs!
Command line has improved a lot, still not finished because I plan to add more features (including restrictions and auto exporting results), but now it will allow a complete search set from command line or a ".bat" file.
As always any suggestions or comments are welcome.
Here it is:
Version 1.5.4.0 (July 5, 2017)
[fix] While searching inside files (content restriction), case insensitive was not functioning correctly missing some results
[fix] PayPal address textbox is now read-only
[new] Command line options that allow the start of an automatic search from command line loading search parameters.

·http://www.hnsoft.pt/Repository/CSearch ... .5.4.0.exe Self-Extracting file.

Re: CSearcher
So far the updated version is working great. I don't have something where I could utilize the awesome command-line features that you've added, but I appreciate you adding those.hugonabais wrote:As always any suggestions or comments are welcome.
As to suggestions, I have two rather minor UI changes for:
- When the window is collapsed via the arrow box. It just doesn't look quite right: (image link: http://i.imgur.com/o0KAOx0.png )
- The Options menu isn't behaving the way I'd expect, cutting off the numbers (I typed 33 here):
My response lacks thorough testing as a lot of the real world work I've been doing is with proprietary formats like Office and PDF, so a lot of the searching I was able to initially test this program with have been handed off to some other tools. I will try to test it with text files whenever it comes up.

I have tested a lot CSearcher in several of my computers and some coworkers I have, many of them were Windows 7x64, my computer where I code and test CSearcher is Win7x64!
I never seen that UI bug!
I'm thinking that probably you have one of this things:
- Changed windows default font?
- Changed font size?
- Changed font scaling? maybe to 125% or 150%?
- Using any 3rd party tool to interfere with Windows UI?
Re: CSearcher
Sorry for the slow reply on this. You were right: Windows scaling is set to 125% and I was using Windows Classic Theme (basically looks like Windows 2000). Not using any custom fonts or 3rd party UI tool.hugonabais wrote:I'm thinking that probably you have one of this things:
