GIF-X / GIF-Effects

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

GIF-X / GIF-Effects

#1 Post by zorro »

GIF-Authoring with morphing-capability, video import etc.

Website (in german): http://www.psynetic.net/index.php/grafi ... f-x-detail
...pretty sure the program is also german, there's no "language" folder or such in the downloaded ZIP.

A portable version is available ("Download ohne Installation"), the author claims that the software does not write to registry and system directories.

Seems powerful - here the translated fatures:
- create animated GIFs
- change dimensions of existing GIFs
- add effects to existing GIFs
- create banner and logos
- extract frames from existing animations and videos
- convert images to other formats
- convert AVIs to GIF or Flash-video
- convert animated GIFs to AVI or Flash-video
- general image processing

(...down the page there's a download-link for more transition effects - mainly a (unofficial) DirectX-Tool from Microsoft, that requires NET-Framework and enables some extra effects. Surely not portable.)

I haven't test it, nor can I contribute a screenshot (there's none on the homepage), but the package seems powerful.
The author also offers "GIF-Effects" (http://www.psynetic.net/index.php/grafi ... cts-detail), wich seems similar, but with less posibilities and more one-click-solutions.

Did you mean to post that to the "Pass-O-Meter" thread? It seems this is something that should have it's own.

Anyway, here's the Google Translate version of the site:

The only other website I could find that talks about it:

I expected there would be an English language option inside the program since the languages are similar and English is common in Germany, but that's not the case. As this is an English-only site, it likely won't get added to the database.

I tried testing this out anyway and although there does appear to be a portable mode built into it, I'm not literate in German so I couldn't get very far.

I went ahead and gave it a separate thread.
