I'm using the latest version and (so far) I don't see any difference from the previous version. The new button doesn't do anything as far as I can tell. It just keeps trying to save everything as JPEG, which wouldn't be a big deal if this was basically the program that taught me JPEG wasn't for everything.



Edit: according to softpedia, it's now adware, but I'm not seeing any evidence of this.

It's already been pointed out in another thread but by way of connecting the dots, I wanted to note that RIOT does not support animated GIF files. For a program that cuts out extra colors to cut down on file size, look to GIFmicro (discussed here).

Results in testing varied widely, probably due to the very wide array of different GIF compression tools. I didn't see a major difference running this program before converting to APNG but I wouldn't be surprised if there was an improvement there as well.
