MyImgur (formerly Tiny Uploader) - image uploader

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

MyImgur (formerly Tiny Uploader) - image uploader

#1 Post by joby_toss »

I'm using TinyUploader (portable, many features, x64 version etc.) for a long time and I'm very happy with it.

With this little tool you can very easily upload pictures to http://www.imgur.com and http://www.imageshack.us without having to go through their website. You can enable shell link integration and simply Right-click the file and select “Send to Imgur/Imageshack“ or drag the file to the app. window and it will automatically start uploading.

I tried TinyUploader before but could not get it to work at all. I constantly got "Send Error" message. Also, if I remember correctly, it saved settings in AppData\Roaming\Tiny Uploader

Some nice suggestions everyone, I'll check out TinyUploader, see if a VBScript can be created to overcome the non-Portable problem.

@Ruby, that site looks familiar, I'll try it the next time I need to upload something.
@Midas, that site looks promising, one to watch out for.

But not anymore! :)

Please, download the new executables from here, and use the "/portable" parameter to launch the version you need (32 or 64 bit). This way it will use the "settings.xml" file from the application directory.

Mr. Brian was kind enough to make the necessary changes (over night!).
Thank you very much, sir!

I'll add the application in the database in the next hours.

Edit: OK, done! http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2284

Today's recipe for a portable Tiny Uploader:

1. Download suitable executable from site above;
2. Rename to DONT-RUN.exe and place it in some folder by itself;
3. Get HoeKey (http://www.bcheck.net/apps/hoe.htm) executable and copy to folder mentioned in 2.;
4. Rename HoeKey.exe to TinyUploader.exe for straightforwardness;
5. Create HoeKey.ini with this content:

Code: Select all

Load=Run|DONT-RUN.exe /portable||%c
Load=Kill|Hoekey
6. Run whatever you made in 4.; plus you can now copy the whole folder to wherever you want, especially your thumbdrive.

The only snag I have now is how to dynamically point the capture folder to the current desktop, since neither %USERPROFILE%\Desktop nor the {00021400-0000-0000-C000-0000000000046} CLSID seem to work when placed into <settingsFolderPath>screenshots</settingsFolderPath> inside settings.xml, resulting in the creation of a Captures sub-folder inside the folder created in 2. Any clues?

Tested TinyUploader: Portable

It does create settings.xml and Captures folder in the application folder but I still get the "Send Error: Bad Request" message. Any idea?

Image successfully sent to Imageshack.us

Doesn't work with imgur.com though.

It works OK for me. I used only imgur lately.

Did you try to disable your AV and FW?

Disregard my previous (dumb) post -- I keep forgetting you're on x64, lots of uncharted territory that way...

Tiny Uploader is MyImgur now.
It is possible to rename the entry or a new one is necessary?

It no longer supports imageshack.us - that should be removed from the description:
MyImgur (previously Tiny Uploader) is a tool for uploading pictures to imgur.com and imageshack.us
It was removed in v3.0:
Removed Imashack support
