The latest version of WordWeb dictionary now has an portable (USB) installation mode under the advanced installation option. Seems to work OK for me.

Sorry for the brain fart! This thread should go to the "portable freeware submissions". Please accept my apologies.

It's a 30-day-Version only.
It says: "All users may use WordWeb for 30 days for evaluation purposes.
After 30 days you may use it only if you take less than 3 flights in any 12 month period ...
... If you fly more than this you must purchase WordWeb Pro to continue using the software after 30 days".

I haven't gone to the site, but quoting from Checker's quote

I don't fly. That implies I can use it forever for free.
Sounds like a bargain to me.
:D

I don't drive SUV either, but the mini-est mini-car you can imagine (35 mpg, its wonderful).
I am double-qualified for free!

The licensing requirements are an incentive for being more environment-friendly. They must rely on the user's conscience, I don't think they could actually enforce the license unless they were being Big Brother and hacking into your life to see your travel and driving habits.

Hahaha, I love the licensing agreement for this.

This is completely free unless you're an arsehole.
I can't stop laughing.

Really though, if you were the kind of person that drove an suv would you really give a shit about going along with this license?

Hey GrannyGeek I'm even more qualified than you, I don't even drive a car =D

WordWeb 5.5 really is portable

This should get in the database because it's currently listed as a rejected app, which is somewhat unfair to the developer who created the portable installation option. :D

I have confirmed that WordWeb is both portable and stealth when you choose the USB installation in the installer (after clicking the "Advanced" button). It saves settings (and the dictionary file) in the application folder.

Version 5.5 was just released.

I used to travel 100% in order to feed my family. I guess I can get away with this now since I am unemployed (not starving - yet)
