@HSDev
Thanks. Tested v6.36.650: Portable (Settings.dat in application folder)
What is OW Shredder storing in \AppData\Local\Temp?

Re: OW Shredder
The onlinest not that portable part is the settings file and when you want a intigration into the context menu or the widget autostart. The Settings.dat is always in the same folder as OW Shredder and stores your options. If there is no file it tries the language detection, which is saved later on in the Settings file.
OW Shredder temorary moves file to the \AppData\Local\Temp folder when it is erasing files on your system drive (C:\). But it does not store any data there.
Version 6.40 Build 713
NEW:
Creating own erase schemes
Korean translation (Big thanks to JaeHyung Lee)
Refreshing of the drive list if there are any drive changes
Log file with system based time format
Recycle bin safe date removal per context menu
IMPROVED:
Better menu points
Optimazed Russian translation (Big thanks to Black_Raven)
One common translation bug was fixed
Drag and drop with non existent objects fixed
A bunch of smaller improvements and bug fixes
Refreshing of the bin recycle icon on the desktop
Increased security grade of the options file

OW Shredder is now available in seven languages. If you want to help to translate you can use the contect for here: http://hendrik-schiffer.com/contact.html
Re: OW Shredder
My only complaint about OW Shredder is that it starts a bit slowly.
I would like to suggest a simple enhancement- an option for cascading context menu in Windows shell- one main OW Shredder menu with two sub-menus- Safe Erase and Unlock.

@ HSDev
Off-topic- I found your other project- SecureGhost- is it a closed Beta?

Re: OW Shredder
@smaragdus In the following update the startup will be faster as before. It may sounds weird, but the loading of the hardware information takes a big part of the loading time.
Only files can have the option with the cascading menu, since the others do not support the unlock and erase funciton at the same time. We put a notice in our to do list.
For information to SecureGhost please send me a private message with your e-mail and we will send give you information on it.

Re: OW Shredder
The research towards a cascading context menu is done and wont be intigrated. The reason is, when the UAC is at the lowest level the cascading menu will not expand on Windows 8+.
Re: OW Shredder
OK but the cascading menu is a common feature in common programs like WinRAR & 7-Zip. On program start OW Shredder might check the UAC level and if it is the lowest OW Shredder should make the cascading menu option simply inaccessible.HSDev wrote:The research towards a cascading context menu is done and wont be intigrated. Re: OW Shredder
@smaragdus The intigration would be possible, but I dislike the fact it does not work on every system. OW Shredder works same on all operation system with the feature exception.
Re: OW Shredder
I've added OW Shredder to the database.
