BZR Player is a sound player for Windows with the primary goal being able to play a lot of different file formats, currently over 480 different ones. It is developed using C++ and QT. The sound engine is based on FMOD.

Download ZIP-package, extract, run BZRPlayer.exe. Settings in application folder.
Portable, stealth at first look (need more testing)

From Addictivetips article:
This portable Windows application boasts support for an impressive number of formats and is a must-have for those with music in a variety of formats. As of this writing, the application supports a staggering 480 playable formats including MP3, OGG, Amiga MOD, FLAC, Atari YM, Nintendo NSF and many many more. That’s the most extensive music format support I’ve seen so far in any media player.

Ok if you have niche formats you want to play but pointless for the masses who all pretty much just use mp3, aac, wma or ogg

*Shrug* It's a feature that some might care about. So for example, I never use mouse gestures (I think few people do) but I'll acknowledge that it's presence in a program may draw visitors/interest.
