ShareX - screenshot, screen recorder, uploader, etc.

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

ZScreen is also in the database. ;)

Thank you for this great tool and for taking the time to join our forums!

Thanks! Voted (my vote counts as 5 points; it needs a minimum of 10 points to not be "hidden" anymore; don't worry, it will have them soon)!

Yes, the FAQ section should be updated.
Please, see this forum post from the admin of TPFC: http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... =12&t=5651
Andrew Lee wrote:First off, anyone who has joined the forum for at least a week can add
applications directly to the database using the new 'Add Entry' function
located at the top-right of the page (after the username). However, the
application goes into a private "favorites" list and not the main page. In
order to make it to the main page, the application needs to accumulate a
sufficiently high score to become "public".

Sure thing. I'm sorry many on the Reddit thread weren't sympathetic. Please don't let ass clowns like Neox keep you from working on it. There have been at least 10 GIMP look-alikes but these many years later and with all its faults, there's only GIMP. The same thing will happen for ShareX.

Compared to GIMP biggest problem in ShareX is not much peoples know existence of ShareX because i don't know how can i advertise it. And this is breaking my will to work on project because even when ShareX have far more features than some alternatives still software articles websites keep writing articles about other screenshot capture softwares but don't know about ShareX. Especially in best screenshot capture articles have like 10 different screen capture apps and they never mention about ShareX because they don't know existence of ShareX. Thanks for your answer by the way :)

Consider Faststone Capture: far from the best portable screenshot system here on the site, but it remains popular because it's what people are used to. Learning a new program with a new interface is counter to do what users have always been doing with what's reliable software. Even with all the software I test, I sometimes do that too, ignoring for example what was a dramatically better, open source Internet radio program StreamWriter because I was perfectly happy with an old version of RadioSure.

One of the things I'm really happy about this site is that we draw attention to new and excellent software. We won't be the tipping point between obscurity and popularity, but hopefully we'll get you some more downloads. You already have some unique features to set your software apart, so it's just a matter of time until your work is better recognized.

Before i was be able to update ShareX page but currently i can't. So i can't change version number etc.
Also i added new way to use portable mode because some peoples don't like to use command line arguments and this method allow peoples to change settings folder to where they want.
I created wiki page which explaining this but because my english is not very good can be little difficult to understand it :)
Link to wiki page: https://code.google.com/p/sharex/wiki/PersonalPath
Will be good if you can update "How to extract" section in http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2409 and add this second method too which involving creating text file with "ShareX" text in it.

Yes, you lost the privilege to edit the ShareX entry when I am Baas touched it. Whenever you want the entry to be updated, just ask us.

But you're hiding the first line (in Debug window)! :)

It should say: "ShareX 7.1.1.390 Portable started".
And the window caption should be: "ShareX 7.1 Portable".
