Features of the Portable Version: All existing Registry Settings from an installed Version are backupped, before the portable Settings are written. After closing the Application the Portable Settings are saved to the Application Directory and deleted from the Registry. If an installed version is found, the Settings from this are restored.

Additional Functions:
- Store and open Playlists
- Show Song Details
- Allows opening the currently played song in an installed Version of ModPlug Tracker for editing (if the Tracker exists)
- Converting the Files to .wav Files
- Equalizer
- Taskbar Controls

Warning: DO NOT OPEN AN INSTALLED VERSION OF THIS PLAYER IF THE PORTABLE IS RUNNNING OR YOU'LL MESS UP WITH THE SETTINGS

Writes settings to: Registry
How to extract: Download the .ZIP and extract to a Folder of your Choice
Stealth: Yes
License: Freeware
Depends on: Soundcard (who hasn't one)
Download:
- Portable: http://ayra.ch/apps/?show=44 (To download click the Title of the Entry)
- Original Page: http://www.modplug.com (installer, without Launcher)
- Example Settings: http://rapidshare.com/files/309625021/Portable.reg
The Example Settings is a .reg File, you can Copy into the Portable Folder, extracted from above ZIP File.
It has nicer Color Settings, Equalizer enabled, X-Bass enabled and High Quality Output enabled.
If you do not like the Stereo Separation, you can click the "Setup" Button in the ModPlug Player
and move the Slider in the Appearing Dialog to its middle Settings

If you like the Technology with the portable.exe and the Bat Files you are allowed to:
- Copy and change the .Bat Files to fit your application
- Copy the portable.exe, changing the Resources with a Resource Editor of your choice (for Replacing Icons, Product Name, etc)
- Redistribute them under the same Condition as above.
Tip: If you launch the portable.exe (yes, you can rename it) and in the Folder is no portable.ini, it will create one and a Help text file.
If you need more Help, just ask me!

I think the ZIP-file (from the original site) is portable

No, ModPlug Player still writes to the Registry and if you use it on multiple computers you have to do the same settings over and over again

I see ... so it's a "no-installer" only
I'm used to the XMPlayer, but this little player seems to be worth to have a closer look :)

Thanks to you, anyway :!:
