I've been following this program on Linux for a while and happy to see a Windows portable version appear. Not much has happened lately with the only other open and portable iTunes alternative,
Songbird.
Requirements: Goes without saying for most forum users, but other folks not familiar with the format will need
7-zip to decompress the file lautrepay pointed to above.
Warning: this is a beast in terms of features and size. Many users will be uncomfortable with the size of the program, which is one of the largest on the site (LibreOffice is the current king at almost 0.5 gigs).
- Compressed: 80 megs
- Uncompressed: 389 megs
- With NTFS compression: 250 megs

- iPod support - something that is unique on the website. All the other iPod managers no longer work.
- Transcoding for iPod-like and USB Mass Storage devices that complements transcoding for Local Collection (Songbird will also do this)

On a sidenote, the use of 7-zip is notable (and good) because this program contains a LOT of small files, something that 7-zip excels at compressing over simple ZIP. I hope they don't change that (or also offer a self-executing version).

Update: testing this under WinXP SP3 saw some odd errors and the website is listing this as a beta, so I would run this with caution.
