Topic update: Luminance HDR (http://qtpfsgui.sourceforge.net/; see also discussions at http://www.facebook.com/luminancehdr/) is still available but apparently in a dormant state of development. :?

The original web site lists v2.4.0, dated from 2014-01-27 (release announcement: http://qtpfsgui.sourceforge.net/?p=298); in a post dated 2015-02-24, the project declared it was moving to GitHub (cf. http://qtpfsgui.sourceforge.net/?p=305), but the last release posted there is v2.3.0 for Linux (Debian: http://github.com/LuminanceHDR/LuminanceHDR/releases).

Notwithstanding, apparently Luminance HDR is now natively portable (untested!): it's in the official release announcement for v2.3.1 (http://qtpfsgui.sourceforge.net/?p=274), plus there are now discrete installer and 7z packages for download at SF.net (http://sourceforge.net/projects/qtpfsgu ... nce/2.4.0/). An empty but aptly named 'PortableMode.txt' is even included with the installer version.
@IAmBaas: please remove versio info from OP, for better retrievability. Thanks. :)

@Midas

Thank you for this. The 7z packages do not include the empty PortableMode.txt but a portable mode can be enabled under "preferences" too:

I briefly tested Luminance HDR v2.4.0.0...

Settings: application folder.

Creates an empty user\current\LuminanceHDR folder and also writes QTproject keys into the registry.

Verdict: Portable (not stealth)

Synopsis: (I couldn't find a good one so I wrote it): HDR is a photographer trick that means taking multiple pictures at more than one exposure level. Then, once you layer the different photos on top of each other, there are some cool tricks that Luminance can do to make it look really sharp. Some cameras support HDR as a file format (they integrate multiple exposures as a single file) or you can just import multiple images in this program with different exposures.
