MoWeS stands for the three letter abbreviation Modular Webserver System and makes it possible, to run a webserver based on Apache, MySQL and PHP from an USB Stick or any other writable media (harddrive, flash cards etc.) without installation under Windows (98 to Vista).

does this work online? not sure how to word it, but last webserver only worked across my lan and only people on same network could view the files

I think that depends on how your network is configured and not so much how MoWeS works or is configured. But if you like you can leave a message at the MoWeS support forum. Old topic update: MoWeS Portable creator CH Software went out of business and chsoftware.net is dead.
