TeamViewer
Re: TeamViewer
Thanks I am Baas. I wonder if TV knows about the admin rights issue.
Re: TeamViewer
So if you're using TeamViewer you might want to switch to something else.

The company doesn't appear to be handling the vulnerability very well.
I added a note to the entry as this looks pretty serious.

Re: TeamViewer
Just came on TPFC after I read the Ars Technica article to see if someone posted about this and sure enough, webfork is on top of things
About the TeamViewer thing, does that only happen if you signed up for a TeamViewer account? I've never signed up with TeamViewer and have only used it to remote to someone else's desktop with the default partner ID and password, so I think I'm safe here.

Since it *looks* like account data that they're exploiting, I suspect not having an account makes you safe. I'm not sure.freakazoid wrote:About the TeamViewer thing, does that only happen if you signed up for a TeamViewer account?

Re: TeamViewer
TeamViewer has confirmed that the problem is only applicable to people that signed up with TeamViewer accounts.

http://arstechnica.com/security/2016/06 ... ount-hack/we're talking about TeamViewer accounts. TeamViewer offers particularly to its business clients the option of setting up TeamViewer accounts which come with a lot of advantages for professional users because it allows them to manage multiple devices, have their entire support force be in that account and set up policies that especially professional users are looking for. That's a feature that we're also offering to our private users who can use the accounts for free. Most of the cases to the best of my knowledge are in regards to those accounts.
