AnimateGIF - simple GIF animation tool

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

AnimateGIF - simple GIF animation tool

#1 Post by webfork » Fri May 15, 2015 8:20 pm

Synopsis: Fast and easy way to quickly generate animated GIFs for PortableFreeware.com with quality controls and frame delay.  Can pull frames from GIF, PNG, and JPG.

Tested: v 1.1
Homepage: http://xylemstudios.com/products/animategif.php

Softpedia: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia ... eGif.shtml

Animated GIF I generated with the program: http://i.imgur.com/MY0gjSr.gif

Status: Portable and Stealth - saves no settings.

Details: Definitely like this as a dead-simple alternative to PhotoScape, which I've been using to create animated GIFs for PortableFreeware images.  Note that unlike PhotoScape, if you want to change the order of the GIFs, you have to delete and re-add.

File size results (on the high compression setting): Pretty good.  Example above is 3 frames for 44k.

Softpedia says the program is lightweight, which is certainly true in terms of footprint (the 1.14 megs could fit on an old floppy disk) but it needs 13 megs of RAM while running.

Possible issues:
* Defaults to black background, no way to modify this
* Have to enter the settings everytime you restart the program
