Anki is a flashcard like program that uses spaced repetition to help you memorize things.

It can be made portable by creating a shortcut that specifies the location of the configuration file. The following info is from the website:

Can I run Anki from a flashdrive?

Sure. Start Anki with a command-line argument pointing to a directory you want to use for configuration files. It doesn't have to exist.

To do this in windows, copy and paste the entire anki program directory to your flashdrive. Then, right click on "anki.exe" and create a shortcut. Right click on the shortcut to access its properties. Finally, change "target" field from " '\Anki\Anki.exe" to " '\Anki\Anki.exe -c \ankiconfig", apply your changes, and hit ok.

Now you're ready to go, just click on the shortcut that you created.

How to extract: Download the executable file and extract (UniExtract) to the folder of your choice. Move the contents of the "$[31]" subfolder into the main folder and delete the subfolder. Delete [NSIS].nsi. Run the program with the following command line "anki.exe -c ankiconfig". Settings will be stored in folder "ankiconfig", and will be created if it doesn't exist.

I downloaded the installer and extracted it with Universal Extractor. I copied everything in the {app} directory to a folder called Teach2000, and ran Teach2000.exe. It asked me to choose a language (I choose English), then it asked if I would like to create a file association, and I said No. It's not stealth, but it did make a few entries in the reg.

I've been using it in the same fashion for a while now with no issues. I've only tested it on WinXP though.
