Swap'em is different from the other 'name swapping' utilities I've seen around as with this you can also swap the names of a file & folder too. If you don't want to run the application everytime then simply add to the Explorer context menu as well as the Send To menu making it very easy to swap files quickly and easily.

Comparison chart by spicydog:

Swap'em permits to swap the names of two files or folders by either dropping the items onto the application's interface or, to enjoy totally seamless name swapping, add Swap'em to the Explorer context menu and/or to the Send to menu.

Thanks joby_toss. I've re-uploaded Swap'em with the new translation(s) as I received German & Russian translations yesterday from 2 very generous users yesterday.

Looks like a handy app, thanks!

Hungarian translation:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17407690/Swapem/Hungarian.lng

I may found a bug. When the app is minimized and I close it from the tray menu, the app starts minimized next time. It is OK but there's no way to restore, at least I wasn't able to do that on WinXP SP2.

The settings.ini contains these (other values seemed OK to me):

Code: Select all

SizeH=0
PosX=-32000
PosY=-32000
Also, "confirmation" in "Show swap confirmations" is not the best term imo, I would use "result" or "message" instead.

Thanks, I've uploaded your translation and fixed the issue (didn't change the version number as it was a small fix only.)

I've updated Swap'em with an important update for those who use Windows XP SP2/SP3. The problem was found by user spicydog in which Explorer wasn't catching the swapping of files and required the user to hit F5 (twice) to refresh the Explorer window and sort. I luckily found a workaround in which Swap'em sends a message to Explorer to refresh it's window and sort as well. This isn't the case for Windows Vista or above.
