BRIM - messaging and collaboration [discontinued]

#1 Post by webfork »

Synopsis:

BRIM is an all-in-one productivity tool that looks like a more than adequate replacement for the batch of different Slack copies available lately. There are some amazing built-in tools here including screen recording, task management, draw/whiteboard, file sharing, and video chat and screensharing. It's impressive.

Unfortunately it's not portable, writes settings all over the place, and requires registration. No support forum, not much here for PFW folks.

-------------

Frameworks: The program is Electron-based, which of course means it uses ~200 megs of RAM 224 megs of disk space, but this is one of those rare moments where the feature-set matches the big chunk resources it requires. Also uses FFMPEG and what looks like a lot of other OSS tools.

License: liteware/registerware, starting with full features and then reverting back to a basic toolset.

Steps: Download the EXE, Uniextract, Launch BRIM.EXE

Sites:

Feature comparison: most of the features I downloaded it for aren't available in the lite version.
