[First mentioned in Midas' post: viewtopic.php?p=70194#p70194]
It's one of the lower performers in testing, but it's free, open source, and one of the few that I've seen that's REALLY cross platform including Mac, Linux, and Android.
Really, really like the settings menu. If I keep messing with that, I'll post a screencap. It's a thing of beauty.

I tried the "Standalone" distribution on the download page.
B1 Free Archiver - cross-platform compression
Re: B1 Free Archiver
Nice. It registered with me, too; as far as performance is considered, if it can decode 7Z and RAR and make ZIPs, it will suffice for about 90% of the online population...
Re: B1 Free Archiver
I can't find a changelog but this program is still in development according to softpedia. It's been a few years so I retested ...
Steps:
1. Download standalone and launch
2. Save to a folder outside of Program files and uncheck all items
3. Launch program and disable auto-update from the Settings - Misc tab
Status: Not portable, still writing to the same places mentioned earlier in the thread. Devs have been contacted.
License: Softpedia is listing it as adware but I can't see any kind of adverts. Here's the full (remarkably large) EULA: https://b1.org/eula.jsp
Wishlist: ability to change default compression format and levels, more support for 7z (not seeing a reason to use their built-in B1 format compression).

New version out 1.7.122.0: https://www.softpedia.com/get/Compressi ... iver.shtml
Softpedia is listing it as adware, not sure why.
The program still opens easily enough with 7zip but remains non-portable.
