I love 7-zip but it misses many advance features so i tried many other compression software until i found a better alternative which has those missing advanced features and more plus it is freeware.

Features -

Creating an archive can be seamlessly done by specifying a name, format (e.g. ZIP, 7Z, TAR, WIM, LZH) and compression method (ranging from 'Store' to 'Best').

Furthermore, you can select the update mode (e.g. add and replace
files, synchronize archive contents), split the archive to volumes by
size, and configure archiving options (e.g. delete files after
archiving, test archived items, turn off the computer on completion,
compress and send via email).

Other features HaoZip revolve around archive encryption, file
exclusions, the compression algorithm, time and comments. Plus, you can disable the double-panel, convert archives to SFX, view a log file, import and export settings, repair archives, change the interface language and organize profiles.

HaoZip comes with some additional functions which allow you to view and convert image files, calculate MD5 checksums, batch-rename items and batch-replace strings, scan files for Trojans and open virtual CDs.

From the 'Settings' section you can select the compression and
decompression mode (smart or full-speed mode), integrate HaoZip into shell and make it stay on top of other apps, set archive associations,

customize the appearance, as well as specify the default text and image viewer, just to name a few.

• Not to mention that development of Haozip's international version has stalled behind the native Chinese version (already at v4.0 in http://www.haozip.com/) -- which, as much as I liked its slick interface, has led me to dump it in favor of portable Bandizip...

Tested HaoZip 3.0.1.9002 English version and 4.2.1.9445 Chinese version.
They are both portable (save settings to config folder).

And you can have the latest Chinese version in English (even the x64 version if you're using a x64 OS) if you:
- download both programs
- install them using Sandboxie (extracting with UE or 7z corrupted the files in my test) outside Program Files (don't know if it really matters, but I changed the path anyway); if you're like me and don't understand Chinese, just deselect the 4 grouped checkmarks and hit the big blue button
- copy the files where you want them (En and Ch separate, of course)
- copy the HaoZipLang_enu.dll file (from En version) into the lang folder (from Ch version)
- open HaoZipLang.ini file from config folder (Ch version) and add this string: file=HaoZipLang_enu.dll
- launch HaoZip.exe

Thanks for the instructions, joby! Just tested and your walkthrough works.

HaoZip is indeed aesthetically more pleasing than Bandizip, but the uncompressed filesize is around 16MB. Memory usage is around 10-15MB. (As a comparison, Bandizip's filesize and memory is around 7MB.)

They have a help file (Haozip.chm) that includes a guide to use their command-line program HaozipC.exe. Will need to use Google Translate since it's all in Chinese though!

Going to stick with Bandizip for now, but might come back to Hao a bit later on to test their command-line.

Topic update: FYI, Archive.org has a snapshot of http://haozip.ru/en/ dated from a very recent 2017-12-12, which offered an English HaoZip v5.9.5.10808, released 2017-12-03, for download -- unfortunately, it appears the download itself wasn't archived.

OTOH, there's a Chinese only Haozip v5.9.6.10833 at www.azofreeware.com /2009/09/haozip-1412812-1412812.html -- should you get a password prompt, "azo" without quotes worked for me -- and the page at http://www.bkill.com/download/6656.html implies there's even a more recent v5.9.7, released 2018-03-16, that I was unable to get.

BEWARE, though, Russian speaking users say these versions are full of adware.
