Requires .net 2 to run

Settings, log, and db files at \user\current\AppData\Roaming\BatteryCare

I did not check if the WinRing driver leaves anything behind.

Oops, didn't check that.
Thought a ...Portable.zip would be fine enough

Don't be misled by a developer stating their application is Portable or because it comes packaged in a ZIP file.

Very interesting. I've seen a huge number of battery programs that are really just slightly nicer replacement for Windows' own tools but this seems like a real step above.

  • If only for the hardware info provided and the battery calibration feature, IMHO...

Basically I used to have a Thinkpad and that device had some really excellent software for battery management. It got a little bulky and unfriendly over time, but it was still a lot better than other tools I've seen. I decided to see if I could find something for a mid-level HP laptop.

Pros: Great interface, lots of options.

Testing device: Win7x64 machine, testing version 0.9.30.

Status: no change from Baas' test ... not portable, still writes to appdata

Resource usage: 12 megs RAM

Wishlist:

* Disable whatever connection to Google Analytics is included in the program. Really can't imagine how that's useful for anyone but Google.
* Some kind of local help file. Right now it points you to the website and I'm not always online.
