Did anyone else lose the icons to their portable apps (in the taskbar and elsewhere) when Microsoft installed Service Pack 1 this week?

No matter what I do, they won't come back.

(PS -- Poo to Bill Gates!)

Thanks for the reply. After the fourth boot, 20 hours later, everything came back. The SP1 auto-update did some weird things... I have all my files (including several gig of portables) under a directory named "UT", but the update renamed it as "My Docunents." And because it was all portable, it was easy to restore!!

The point it, Microsoft is really, really starting to get in the way. Too much intrusion, to much poking around in private data. I don't hate Windows 7, but if you told me I had to moved to Linux by 2014, I wouldn't cry about it.

(I would miss all this great software though!)

Thanks again for asking.

Hm, have you tried keeping the apps in a separate partition than the C drive, or windows drive if not C?
I'm just wondering if the UT folder wasn't located somewhere that Windows was using as it's update folder? Maybe UT in windows world stands for something like Update/Temp or something lol.
