Opera V11.00 has moved from Alpha to Beta and with a ton of new updates! I won't list them all here, but lets just say that Opera is going to be a huge contender in the browser wars.

As I said earlier most people wont switch to Opera because it's not as clean looking as the other two IE alternatives and it has so many options/settings it scares people away.

Yes but that's the same sort of list that Mac users quote to say Macs are safer than Windows. Doesn't mean the exploits are not there just means no one has bothered looking for them. Also does it just count the number of exploits or are the weighted depending on severity?

Now it's official Beta and plays host to yet some more new feature e.g. Tab stacking...check it out: http://www.opera.com/browser/next/

Plus, the Amp is a SpinalTap tribute >> http://my.opera.com/chooseopera/blog/op ... a-tomorrow

Up to now, I've used a normal install of Opera 10, but I would like to use a portable install (as can be seen in a screenshot somewhere in this thread) of Opera 11 as soon as the final release is out.
What do I have to do to migrate all my settings like urlfilter.ini, imap account and mails, bookmarks and userscripts?

PS: Win7x64

I just use 7-zip to unzip the Opera installer and then move my old "profile" folder with the newly extracted files.

Why use 7-Zip when the Opera 11 installer has the option to make it a portable installation?

However, I'm not sure where to find exactly that one folder with all the necessary things. (I couldn't find a folder named "profile".) It seems there are bits and pieces scattered across all kinds of places (Programs, ProgramData, AppData, VirtualStore). Or am I too blind to see?

'Cause I do this often and I'm used to it. :)

Ah, brilliant, thanks. I wonder why I couldn't find this myself...

While the rest of us are out enjoying the Friday evening Opera are still adamant on releasing not one but two updates on the same day! Plus, it was their Christmas Party :P

It should be noted that WebSockets has been turned off for the time being, due to a vulnerability with the protocol. It can be enabled using opera:config#Enable%20WebSockets.

I have some problems with my Opera11: userjs and extensions do not work (together or separate, it doesn't matter).
I'll have to test it with a new profile, but it takes so long to customize one the way I like it... :)

That gives me an idea for a program :P Do you mean customising the Opera.ini file or the folder structure?

No, not the structure. Just the .ini options.
