A strange quote I noticed in the article "somebody please call Opera and tell them the status bar is dead". It is??!! It's the very first thing I enable when I install a new version, how else are you supposed to see where a link takes you?

Good point! I've always had one just for that reason. But there is an extension called "Popup Statusbar" which only shows when you hover over a link (ala Chrome). Useful for people trying to save some screen real estate.

I actually like the status bar. It's handy for web developers.

I've been using that extension for awhile now!

Would be sweet if you could save tab stacks and then reopen them from Tab Vault.

are you familiar with urlfilter.ini?
http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=32821#p32821

i didn't know about it until guiness menioned it, and it works very well!
i also use Fanboy's CSS style, it removes ad frames, and ergonomically redesigns the layout for max viewing.

as for video downloading: i don't do much of that, but when i need to, i use Youtube downloader.
aren't there any extensions that download videos?
have you looked at MediaBar ?

F.Y.I
i use Opera Notes & Status Bar a lot :)

I've always wanted something like this, but never bothered to actually check to see if one existed. :)

yes, i know fanboy's list, and i'm using his CSS style too ;)
but adblock is more advanced...you can have more than one list, and they get automatically updated, something that cannot be done in opera.
but it's better than nothing , though :)
as for mediabar, it's great!it was one of the first i installed and for the most part it gets the job done. does not have videodownload helper's compatibility, though

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehawwwwwwwwwwwww!

i just upgraded Opera@USB and OperaTor to v11.10 :)
PortableFreeware actually was faster than Opera's update feature, lol.
It's still not available via Opera's update.

They really have changed a lot of things with 11.10!

Brief Highlights that i first noticed:
1. they now let you name each Speed Dial.
2. OperaTurbo has been enhanced.
3. They added even more control over Speed Dial's appearance :)

I'll be honest, i was trying to ditch Kaspersky Internet Security 2011.
I lasted only a few days.
I tried Comodo, ESET, Avira, MSE, and AVG.
None of them compared to Kaspersky.

The main feature im in love with is it's System-wide Anti-banner.
It works with any browser you use.
It has "Heuristics", so the ad doesn't even have to be on any list, and Kaspersky will auto-detect it, and it works soooo well!
Im addicted to it :)

I don't even use ad-blocker or urlfilter, all i use and need is Kaspersky.
They have 30 days trial :)

But it would be nice if Opera had an extension built in.
They'll eventually add it.
Opera is very progressive when it comes to features, designs, and recommendations from it's users :)

what do you think about opera barracuda?
from what i read at the desktop team blog, many users are not happy with the new speed dial (including myself).
thing is , that in some speeddials i get a preview of the page, but in the rest i get a part of it..and there is no option about that!
also , seems like there are a lot of bugs in this release
one thing that i liked, is that opera now automatically resizes images to fit your screen!
one less extension!

Opera Turbo boost and additional support for CSS3 are the only things I like, since I have speed dial disabled.

EDIT:
Nevermind.. i just added a new speed dial and it's not centering absolute. :(
i checked the thumbnail cache and the size is different then the rest .
it must be something with the website's dimensions.
Hopefully Opera will have this fixed by next release.

does anyone know if extensions are version-dependent?
because when i search for "Opera AdBlock" (without the quotes) from a version prior to 11.10, let's say 11.01, i get no results, as if this extension does not exist! (???)
but if i search from opera 11.10, i can see this extension and use it

I get a 404 error for the Opera Adblock page that Magibon linked to.

Also I cannot find it from the Opera Extensions search.
Using Opera 11.10 here.
