MyPodder has been mentioned a total of three times previously. Aug 31, 2006, Jul 11, 2007, & Feb 03, 2009

Out of the three mentions only one bad comment was found

That's a shame...

I have verified that the installer requires an account, and I can no longer find a portable zip download.

Further I cannot create an account, why I do not know.

Does anyone know if the site http://www.podcastready.com/ is abandoned or defunct.

I have used this software for a long time and will miss the functionality, but this is not good.

Finally is there an equivalent (simple, easy to use, & portable) software without this built in "block to use".

I deleted a misbehaving Robert's Podcatcher a few weeks ago. (for some reason even a fresh copy continued to download automatically)

GPodder is working better than the others and as its entry/comments mention the external players are configurable with (drive?) relative path support.
