I agree completely with the above sentiments. have been looking for an application such as DropIt for a long time and it does all that I want it to - No nasty surprises!!!!

Icon transparency might be a welcome addition for the future - suits me fine as is for the moment.

Well done Lupo73 :D

Thanks for this app from me too. I've been looking for something like this for a long time. Very handy very useful and developed shockingly fast. I don't think a progress bar is necessary. Probably something of a more simple kind of progress indicator (color change of the target icon for example) could be a nice additional feature, but "DropIt" is great just as it is.

I have made a minor update and created a page for the software, that now is officially available from here:
http://www.lupopensuite.com/db/dropit.htm

Change Log Version 0.5.1 [17-10-2009]
- added icon shown during the positioning process
- some minor improvements
- fixed some bugs

(I'm trying to add an animated gif as icon shown during process, but I'm waiting a library fixing)

Re: Version 0.5.1

This version shows the application icon in the Taskbar when active. I am not sure that this is necessary since all options and commands are available through "right-click" on the Desktop DropIt icon.

I feel that this is a duplication and takes up unnecessarily real-estate in the Taskbar. The software is fine with the two existing options stay on top and hide.

That is a great program and i love it. I suggest that you open a new tread to discuss and announce new release in the Portable Freeware Development.
The current thread title "looking for a program but can't find what im looking for :(" does not reflect what you are doing right now and i guess there are still many portable fan miss your great software
If you are currently developing portable freeware or planning to do so, use this forum to discuss technical implementation, seek out like-minded developers for partnership, or solicit interested users for beta testing.
