Is there any portable free swf to any kind of video file...

#1 Post by Andronomos »

I was wondering if there is a freeware that can convert a swf file into a video file?

I apologize if this is in anyway a duplicate topic, I did a quick search of the forums and software page but couldn't find anything except a video to flv/swf. Thanks in advance.

Edit: I have found a trial tool that is working for me atm, but I would still like to know if any freeware is out there, currently browsing Google lol.

Awesome, thanks. I'm gonna try it out. It might be exactly what I was looking for. Also, thanks for the website, now i have a new place To search. Thanks again. :D

EDIT: I installed it, but I thought I should point out that it isn't freeware, it's a trial and it doesn't look anything like what you posted. But, the trial is not hard to get around and the program has a lot of features I wanted so it is still a good find for me.

If you don't register, you get watermarks and reduced functionality of course.

Here is the homepage for it: http://www.flash-swf-converter.com/index.php

Maybe I did something wrong but I used the links you provided and thats the program I got.

yeah I think the screen shots they provided on the site are for an earlier version.
(they say its 4mb download when its actually 6mb)
If you like it Maybe you can search here too

Edit:
Wow its an old post hosting an old file;the one from the homepage is even bigger and the program name is changed.

Well thanks for all the replies, I'll try these programs out and let you know how they work. Also, it doesn't have to be portable, just freeware, but being portable is a bonus. :) I've actually been using Any Video Converter for a while, it works very well.

At least by looking at the screenshot above, it may just capture the screen output (a la camstudio) and export that. That's at least how I interpret that "play and capture" button/idea.
And if that's the case, you could just opt for Camstudio, which is free. :)

The suggestions for anything based on ffmpeg or mplayer seem to be the best bets.
