Miranda Plugins - which ones work and which don't

#1 Post by MiDoJo »

Hi I'm just wondering what plugins everyone's using with their Miranda Portable

Also if anyone know any they have used that don't work or any that make it less than portable (write reg entries, appdata etc)

I'll start with my list (I put stars next to those which I feel are Necessary)

ClistNicer
History++*
History Sweeper+
jgmail (jabber replacement for google talk)
Nudge
Pop-Up Plus*
Real Reconnect $
Full Screen Detector $
Smileyadd (I created Smiley Files Specifically for each of my Buddies' programs; for instance trillian)
Status Change
Version Info*
Updater*

$ These plugins may be causing me some problems, but I'm not sure; this is actually why I decided finally to start this topic

KeepStatus
Nice I'm gonna try this instead of real reconnect and see if some of my problems go away
Crash Dumper Unicode |Unicode aware|
Does this work well does it tell the faulting dll? 90% of the time I exit Miranda if I immediately close another program that uses the notification area I get a Miranda has stopped working error (I'm guessing that this is due to something in Haller's Portable app wrapper please no bashing of PortableApps.com apps I've heard it already)

Ha never mind I just got those both
and I got rid of the portable apps one as Andrew posted 7.12 before Haller did a fix and there are instructions for it to be as portable as possible.

Crash Dumper is great.
I posted some crashes in scriver and smileyadd and they got fixed very soon.
crashdumper is from the same author as smileyadd.
You can replace version information also with this plugin.
It's great.

Since I'm using it not even single spam message got through.
I just have to delete them from the database every several months.
Some people couldn't pass it either, but if there were important, they would found another way to contact me. :P

M^2 where'd you get smcnotify.dll?? is it simular to StatusChange.dll?? I think StatusChange.dll is causing my crash problems and would like another plug that does the same :(
Maybe I can have you ICQ it to me, because I'm having no luck finding it
:(
There are others on miranda-vi who have it but there is no link (but it's more recent than StatusChange

Thanks. I hoped it's something that loads plugins when they are actually used instead of at startup.

OT:
I received a strange message on ICQ:

Code: Select all

foldinghome 12 listopada 2008
20:45 hey this is foldinghome from portablefreeware -- message me back if you still use ICQ
16:16 you added by ( Nick: foldinghome, UIN: (0) )
1. There's nobody with "folding" in the nick registered here.
2. UIN:0 => I can't reply

Foldinghome, are you here?
Anybody else got an idea what's up?

??? that's weird I wonder if there's a ICQ webaware bot that skims forums for ICQ numbers. and does that but I can't see the point of it because you'd have to reply and it doesn't sound like there was a link in it.

Andrew, can you look into that and see if the PHP you use can be hardened against that?

M^2 keep us up to date of that, that's worrysome
I'm going to enter my ICQ into my profile and see if I get the same.
Thanks for informing us M

EDIT:Does Playstation3 use ICQ for it's chat? A google of "foldinghome" brings up almost entirely folding@home discussion re:PS3
