OLED Programs

#1 Post by webfork »

While most computer monitors don't currently use OLED due to degradation over time, it's also true that OLED has come a long way and should become the standard soon. As a result, more and more desktop tools will be going a black-first model to help save electricity (since that part of the screen is almost literally turned off).

I was really only able to find two OLED-firendly portable freeware tools:
Anyone know of programs that use mostly-black interfaces?

AdiIRC's colors are fully customizable. The background can easily be made pitch-black.

I've never been overly fond of dark themes but I'm really a fan of this on mobile (Android). Not only does it save energy as it improves overall readability without making one resort to one of those unsightly high-contrast schemes. Nice starter for a dedicated topic, then. 8)
