Just leaving this here to save time for others who might come across these programs: the NX-i and NX-Movie editor. The editor program is extremely basic (add files, add transitions between files, not much else) but the image manager looked sharp and seemed like something Nikon will maintain.

Unfortunately, even a minimal amount of research revealed these are not worth the time. Almost everyone who owns a Nikon camera uses one of a wealth of other tools.
