a program that can read a .pal file ?

#1 Post by vmars316 »

Hello & Thanks,
I am looking for a program that can read a .pal file (created by Irfanview (Export option)).
Can't seem to find a freeware that does this .
Not even Irfanview.
Anyone know of one ?
Thanks

@vmars316

General tips about PAL files: http://file.org/extension/pal
  • What is a PAL file
  • Software that will open, convert or fix PAL files
  • Universal free file viewer
Couple of PAL files converters pointers (disclaimer: did not try any of those) :

Free On-line converter (PAL to JPG, BMP TIFF, GI, ICO, PNG, PDF)
https://www.coolutils.com/online/PAL-to-JPG

Trial-ware converter utility (PAL to JPG, JPEG, BMP, GIF, EPS, PDF, PNG, etc.)

According to a site similar to what __philippe posted, it's a proprietary Corel Draw format. That development house (apart from a brief flirtation with a Linux OS) doesn't do things in a very open way. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened with WordPerfect if they'd opened up the format similar to OpenDocument.

EDIT: according to some old notes, Universal Viewer can read that format. I don't have a way to (easily) test that.
