Wanted: a simple/small text editor with FindAll & Highlight

Editor2 v2.9.2.4 (link date 9-11-2016) also confirmed portable - thankfully free of any registry shenanigan...

This Editor2 recent version is embedded in the free xplorer2_lite_setup.exe package available here http://zabkat.com/x2lite.htm

CLI shortcut to extract exclusively the Editor2 components from the setup package:

c:\>7z e xplorer2_lite_setup.exe edit*.*

To secure portability (as mentioned by Midas and TP109 before), either create an empty ED2.INI file in the Editor2.exe folder,
or invoke Editor2 from the command line with a portable settings option, so:

c:\>Editor2 /I:settings.INI

That works.
Extract with 7-Zip, delete all other files and folders except for the following four files, and add an empty ed2.ini file.
editor2.exe.manifest
editor2.exe
ed2skin.png
Editor2.txt (optional)

Appears that Editor2 v2.5 Build 2.5.0.5 (Unicode) from Softpedia can't be made portable using the ed2.ini file method.

Every 7Z archive contains 3 separate ZIP archives for Ansi, Unicode and X64 versions, any of which contains the executable (editor2_UC.exe or editor2_64.exe), the corresponding MANIFEST file (editor2_UC.exe.manifest or editor2_64.exe.manifest), a TXT file (Editor2.txt), a PNG file (ed2skin.png) and a blank INI (ed2.ini) file.

As Midas has pointed out at least a couple of times an empty ed2.ini file inside program folder makes Editor2 portable.

Topic update: the latest editor2 version -- included with the xplorer2 v4.2.0.1 releases -- is v2.9.5.0 (no specific changelog).
