- Social media - "like" or otherwise make mention freeware.
- Software
- Softpedia Add quick positive reviews to software you like. Or just give it 5 stars.
- Alternative.to Go through and note programs you use or add missing programs.
- AddictiveTips has tons of posts that I could say something nice about the program. E.g.: XMind
- Betanews' fileforum - has a voting function
- MajorGeeks
- Snapfiles (and their portable section: http://www.snapfiles.com/features/portable-apps.html )
- FreewareFiles (thanks shnbwmn)
- alternativeto.net - you can "like" programs or click on the review tab to say what you like (e.g. VLC).
- Tech sites / support
- Reddit subforum (e.g. /r/Software) and post about a favorite program. Maybe list how long you've used it and what it solves.
- Recommend PortableFreeware to solve problem ... for example on SuperUser: exporting Wifi settings
- Other
- Wikipedia – create or add to a program listing (e.g. Greenshot)
- Imgur or other image-sharing sites (e.g. this post on great freeware or this example of work with GIMP editor). Note: you'll want to setup an account, not via the anon posting method; I also recommend against using Google's login system and instead create a separate email+password login)
- Make a Screencast (ShareX works well) to show how you use a given program in a way that might solve a problem for someone else. It doesn't have to be fancy; most youtube videos about freeware are very basic.
