looking freeware that let me make windows transparency
Re: looking freeware that let me make windows transparency
I've tried several programs to make this happen but none of them seemed to work very well. I liked probably Volumouse http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=1340 the most because it gave you very specific, careful controls over the transparency.
Re: looking freeware that let me make windows transparency
Figured Autohotkey can do this, and found a script which does (Alt-W and Alt-S do the opposite of what is documented though). Thought I'd share in case anyone wanted an alternate solution. Also adds an on-screen display to show the function as it's used, and offers always on top and click-through ability.
Adding mouse wheel support is trivial by changing the hotkeys above the functions. Eg: change !w:: to !WheelUp:: and !s:: to !WheelDown:: to change the hotkeys to Alt+Mouse wheel up/down.

but can remember the transparency setting for each program window?
thanks

No, I just checked and it doesn't require the program to be running to modify transparency, which suggests it's modifying Windows settings. When you close the associated program, it doesn't return in a transparent format. Evidently it's just temporary.giulia wrote:...can remember the transparency setting for each program window?
