I saw something in the PDF XChange Editor changelog today about XPS conversion so I tested it out. The conversion process is incredibly simple: open the XPS file, save as (the program defaults to PDF) and you're done.

All elements of the file (quality, text layer, etc.) appear to be preserved.

Great stuff.
