1.) 're-sync audio/video' 2.) 'change pitch of video'

#1 Post by vmars316 »

Hello & Thanks ,

1.) 're-sync audio/video'
I have a learning guitar video
whose audio lags behind the video .
Is there a program that can re-sync audio/video file ?

2.) 'change pitch of video'
I have a learning guitar video
that is slightly out of standard tuning .
Is there a program that can vary the pitch without speeding it up/down ?

..Vernon

For sync, I would try using VLC as it has some available sync tools. My experience with this has been mixed, so you mileage may vary. You might also want play two instances of the video, one hidden, playing audio, and the other visible on mute and see what you can do.

The only reliable way I've found for this, however, is to edit the file. I've used Camtasia (not free or portable) for this, but you might experiment with Shotcut, which is free and might be portable.

For pitch, I'd again start with VLC and if that doesn't work, I'd pull the audio out of the video using XMedia Recode or similar programs and run it through a sound editor. I've done this with SoundForge in the past, but there might be tools for this inside Wavosaur or Audacity.

If you make any progress, please post back here and let me know.

Turns out that Audacity does a good job changing Pitch .
I saved the audio as a separate mp3 file.

But now how can I replace original audio track with new mp3 file ?

Thanks..vm

I think Avidemux should do the trick. At least from what I've read about it, basic edit operations like audio are where it's really aimed. Other than that, I'd look at Shotcut (not portable).

I'll check it out .

I got good results from MKVToolNix
from http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/
It has an Extract program and a mkvmerge (mme.exe) program .
.
Thanks
