Safari browser [Windows version discontinued]

#1 Post by portackager »

Safari has been released for windows, I've been eager to test it out as I have no mac, but also I'm not on my own machine and would hate to install it, even with permission :P I know it hasn't been very long but has anyone made safari portable yet. I tried with uniextract and it looks like it needs to be installed, because when I uniextracted and ran it failed.

Seems to work - but the fonts are not very impressing - quite unsharp text...

Safari not ready yet

#6 Post by webfork »

I've had too many important problems using Gmail with Safari that make it unusable. I've sent multiple blank e-mails due to some bug in Safari. As the program comes along (say in about 6 months), I'd love to use it as a secondary browser over K-meleon.

The Why

#8 Post by LzBy1 »

I would personally like to try out Safari. AT least once so I can judge for myself. Besides, I would come in handy for cross-platform web development. You would be able to test out your website on multiple browsers. Seeing as Safari is Mac's browser, it would be good to know that Mac users could check out your domain as well.

No. But at least you will know if it works with the Windows version. It's better than nothing.

I found no portable version of 3.1 but I think you can make one easily with the technique discussed here

Worked for me, but due to legal fears I cannot share with you... but it is done in 5 minutes so don't worry ;)
