SourceForge Mirroring Issues, New Releases Delayed

#1 Post by JohnTHaller »

Just a heads up to anyone updating database entries for apps hosted on SourceForge (majority of open source apps). SourceForge's mirroring network updater has been down since yesterday, so even though new releases upload and are sent to the mirrors, the central download links won't work so apps are unavailable. Task Coach ran into this yesterday with the release of 1.3.16 (so all their links lead to files that couldn't be found and redirected back to the root Files page on SourceForge for the project). I've updated the Task Coach Portable entry back to 1.3.15 and updated the download link appropriately. The SF folks were working on this issue on Friday all day and will likely continue to on it Monday bringing the mirror network updater back online then. Until then, keep an eye on updated entries to ensure it doesn't affect them.

The mirroring issues at SourceForge have been resolved again. So, I've updated Task Coach back to 1.3.15. The root issues is still being worked on, though. It would make sense to double-check entries from SourceForge in particular until the issue is fully fixed.

Perhaps we should consider having a note in the database add/edit form asking people to test the download before submitting it.
