Bootline (multiboot USB utility)

#1 Post by Midas »

Bootline website (http://bootline.net/#learnmore) claims that it's a "portable app -- installation not required" (untested!), so here's a quick post for this newcomer alternative for liveUSB creation (dedicated TPFC category at http://www.portablefreeware.com/?sc=312).

Bootline latest release (currently v1.0.1) can be downloaded from http://bootline.net/download.

Nice, very nice. Currently none of the multiboot LiveUSB programs (IIRC) allow you to create a multiboot USB that also lets you install an OS (the latter being the crucial point). You'd think that that would be a relatively simple and easy thing to do. I tried such a setup consisting of Ubuntu Studio, Clonezilla and Macrium Reflect. After having no success (the installation of Ubuntu always failed), I resorted to having 3 USBs - the first with Windows install image, the second Ubuntu, and the final being a multiboot of Clonezilla/Macrium.

It sounds like this program might let me do what I originally wanted, but as always, only testing will confirm.
