To hinder spammers and spambots, the site policy is currently set to allow signatures only after a user has made 5 valid posts.

How about people editing their post after a while and insert links to spam sites (just reported a user to webfork) - do you get notified of such edits? (On some fora mods are notified of updated posts if they include links, a good way to catch spammers who try to look legit by asking seemingly 'useful' questions).
