The two proposed designs allow 2 apps/page as far as I can see, so I have to say NO to both.
I like the second one proposed by tproli, but with 10 apps per page or more...
This is already available under Search Options, "Results per page".

You can select up to 100 results per page  if you want.

Regarding the header, I think dark headers often look great at first but bad in the long run. IMO, a light header would be better.
Count me in for light header as well!

Here goes No 4:

"Updated" is on almost every entry, is it really needed?

I like this new solution!

I vote to remove the updated button and keep only the new one. And what about a simple red text for it?

The website width will be fixed or dynamic like now?

I like the idea of show "Latest Entires" as title of the page. To avoid duplicates and cleanup that line, maybe "most recent first" and "most popular first" could be replaced by only the not current one.

"10 Posts per page could be replaced by a simple "10 per page" (or in alternative "10 apps per page")

I think the "updated" should be kept but removed after some days (weeks?). So for example entries updated a week ago would not get the "updated" tag.

I plan it to be flexible/responsive. So it would stretch to full width but on lower resolutions some items will be hidden. For example below 600 px (screen width) the sidebar would be hidden.

Agree.

The question is how Andrew will (or will not) implement it. But wording suggestions are welcome :)

For consistency, the bottom 'pagination links' should have the same light blue background as the top one.

Also, I find the dark header/footer not really consistent with the light blue theme of the rest of the site -- as well as with the established visual branding of TPFC. Maybe it could be made optional?

Keep up the great work, tproli.

OOPs: Didn't check the latest project screenshot...

Agree.
But then the unenlightened user has no clue to the current sorting criterion, is it not?

I guess you're commenting the previous (dark) design, the newest is

But that's not permanent, or is it?

You're right. I already amended my post... This is getting to be an ultra-fast debate. ;)

For the Release Date addition:

- moved update date, updater name and icon to the right of the entry block
- the second line now reads Release date + size
- "suggested by" moved to the bottom-left corner of the entry block

Great!

The only thing I am not visualizing clearly is how the single entry page (the one opened by the permalink) will be affected...

It should be look like this (some details are not ironed out):
http://rolandtoth.hu/pic/pfc-facelift/pfc-comments.png

- How about changing "Permalink" to "Details"?
- The app's name should also link to the details page and not to the app's site

I like the entry page!

But I think the app name may remains a link to the website and Permalink remains as is, because all description fields are visible in list pages and so there are not more detailed info to be shown. The only additional content is comments, but they are available with a click on the homonymous link. And I think Permalink word is useful to know that it is a static link.

How about this solution for New and Updated tags?
Image

I think permalink is a too techy term, plus I don't think it that important. But maybe I'm wrong. I would remove it and make the Comments link open the app's own page, scrolled to the Comments section. The app's name and icon would also link to the app's own page.

But if users really use the Permalink (and know what it is) then it shouldn't be removed.
